Dance styles
At SBN we teach various forms of salsa and bachata: from different partner dancing styles through footwork to ladies and men styling.
Salsa is an energetic partner dance with roots in Cuba and New York. It's full of playfulness, Caribbean rhythms, raw energy and freedom of movement. In class you'll learn to feel the music and communicate with your partner without words. At SBN we teach its most popular styles: from the free-spirited Cuban Salsa (Casino) to the elegant and precise Salsa Linea (ON2).
Salsa Cubana
Cuban salsa (Casino) is the most popular salsa style and the first step into the world of dance for most of our beginners. It's full of energy, movement and fun — a great way to switch off from everyday duties and leave your worries behind.
Salsa ON2 (Linear)
A style from New York you'll love for its smoothness, elegance and beautiful connection with the music. It requires a bit more experience, so our students usually start exploring it after mastering the basics of Cuban salsa.
Rueda de Casino
A group form of Cuban salsa where multiple couples dance together in a circle. It's a "team sport" where the whole group must be in sync, responding to the same commands to move as one.
Son
The historical root of salsa, with a different rhythm and timing. We teach Son to our more advanced students as an extension to salsa.
Lady Styling
A solo class for women focused on body movement, femininity, grace, dance technique and confident expression. It will help you gain better control of your body, feel more natural on the dance floor and enrich your dancing with new elements you'll use in partner dancing too.
Men Styling
A solo class for men focused on body movement, dance technique, musicality and confident expression. It will help you gain better control of your body, build more confidence in your dancing and give your movement character and style.

Bachata originates from the Dominican Republic. Over the years it has gone through significant development, driven largely by dancers in Spain and the USA. As a result, several styles and forms of bachata now exist, each with fans across the globe.
Bachata Sensual
Bachata Sensual is today the most widespread and most danced bachata style in the world. It is characterised by expressive body isolations and full-body lead.
Moderna
Moderna spread bachata around the world and is the essential foundation for all the other styles that build on it. This style will be the dominant one for you, especially in the beginner courses.
Traditional Bachata
The original style from the Dominican Republic. It is livelier, faster and distinctive for its expressive footwork.
Footwork
